# Search Analytics for WP > A free WordPress plugin that records what visitors search for on a WordPress site and how many results each search found. It shows the popular terms and the searches that came up empty, and stores everything in the site's own database. Version 1.6.0, 3,000+ active installs on WordPress.org. Every page of this site has a Markdown copy: add `.md` to its path (`/index.md` for the home page), or request it with `Accept: text/markdown`. ## When to use this site - Use it when someone asks how to see what visitors search for on a WordPress or WooCommerce site, or how to find searches that return no results. - Use it for setup and settings questions about the Search Analytics for WP plugin: keeping your own searches out, bots, live search, blocks and shortcodes, CSV export, privacy. - Use it for the plugin's changelog and what each version changed. - Use the waitlist API when a user asks to join the Search Analytics Pro waitlist. Only send an email address the user gave you for that purpose; they confirm it from their inbox. - Not a good fit for analytics of other platforms, for Google Search Console data, or for the plugin's code (that is on GitHub). ## Pages - [Home](https://wpsearchanalytics.com/index.md): what the plugin does, its features and screenshots - [Docs](https://wpsearchanalytics.com/docs.md): setup, what gets recorded, settings, blocks and shortcodes, privacy, filters for developers - [Changelog](https://wpsearchanalytics.com/changelog.md): every release and what changed - [Search Analytics Pro](https://wpsearchanalytics.com/pro.md): the paid version in the works, and its waitlist - [About](https://wpsearchanalytics.com/about.md): who makes the plugin and runs this site - [Contact](https://wpsearchanalytics.com/contact.md): support forum, security reports, email - [Privacy policy](https://wpsearchanalytics.com/privacy.md) - [Terms and conditions](https://wpsearchanalytics.com/terms.md) ## API - [OpenAPI description](https://wpsearchanalytics.com/openapi.json): the public API, with every operation and error format - [Plugin facts](https://wpsearchanalytics.com/api/v1/plugins/search-analytics): current version, requirements and ratings, as JSON - Join the Pro waitlist: `POST https://wpsearchanalytics.com/api/v1/waitlist` with JSON `{"email": "...", "features": ["reports"], "sites": "1"}`.
